Guest post from Alltracks Academy, Whistler
One of my trips in the coming season might be to Whistler. I’ve heard some awesome things about the conditions they had there last season, and everyone I know that’s been there has nothing but great things to say about the place other than the lift queues can be pretty bad at times.
Well, that doesn’t matter if you’re hitting the Whistler backcountry…
I was contacted recently by Paul from Alltracks Academy who operate a ski & snowboard school in Whistler specialising in instructor courses and they offered to contribute a post. So very pleased to be able to publish our first guest post here:
a Whistler backcountry tour trip report.
If you’d like to contribute an article or post, please get in touch. We’d love to get posts from snowboarders - whether working in the industry or just highly obsessed (to borrow a phrase) like the rest of us.

I’ve gone to Whistler at least once a year for manymanymany years and I will say this: if you don’t go during the holiday season, you’re fine. It gets a little busier on weekends, but a weekday in early January after New Year festivities is usually quite dead.
Don’t know if you’re interested, but I’ve also been collecting a fair number of tidbits of info on Whistler with each trip:
