I’m planning on moving house in the summer and have been lining up a few new pictures to hang on the walls. Firstly, I’ve had a photo blown up that I took a couple of years ago whilst hiking the south coast walk between Falmouth and Looe (Cornwall, UK).

I’ve been wanting to add something [...]

Nike Sweetspots video

Wednesday, 01. 14. 2009  –  Category: Video

I was pinged with a link to this video widget from Nike ACG. To be honest, I had a 2 second look and binned it as it looked too big brand, slick & salesy. I only took a second look when I saw it posted on pistehors.com and realised - if you dig [...]

Cervinia powder weekend

Tuesday, 12. 16. 2008  –  Category: Snowboarding

What a start to the 2008-2009 snowboarding season! I had the pleasure of 4 days riding deep powder in Cervinia at the start of December.
For the last 4 years, I’ve always started the season in Cervinia, either late November or early December, 2 months before most people (in the UK at least) even start [...]

Off to Cervinia…

Wednesday, 12. 3. 2008  –  Category: Snowboarding

I’m heading out to Cervinia this afternoon. The conditions are looking awesome. It’s been dumping on and off there since late October, the base is solid down to resort and keeps getting a nice powdery top-up. Looks like first snowboarding turns of the season should be good.
Snowjet have done a write up, [...]

Cervinia weekends - first turns of the season

Thursday, 12. 13. 2007  –  Category: Snowboarding

I’ve just had the pleasure of back-to-back weekend trips snowboarding in Cervinia.
Cervinia shares a ski area with Zermatt, which has a glacier that’s open for skiing all year round, so you’re guaranteed some snow even early season. Fortunately early season this year is of epic proportions in terms of snow right across the Alps. [...]

Snowboarder dies after crevasse fall

Friday, 03. 16. 2007  –  Category: Snowboarding

Sad news of a British woman dying whilst heli-snowboarding on the Zermatt glacier.
The 33-year-old woman fell as she skied at high altitude down a glacier on the Swiss-Italian border.
Police in the Valais area said the woman fell 15 metres into the crevasse at 3,060 metres above sea level.
They said she was among a group of [...]

With the cold weather finally upon us, not much real snowfall to speak of and the busy Christmas holidays to deal with, isn’t it about time we saw the snow cannons in action?
Morzine today is starting to resemble the golf course it was looking like a couple of weeks back. The snowfall was short-lived [...]

Cervinia/Zermatt weekend snowboarding trip

Tuesday, 11. 28. 2006  –  Category: Snowboarding

After much anticipation, planning and build up, 12 of us went for a long weekend in Cervinia this weekend gone.
Whilst we stayed in Cervinia, most of the snowboarding was to be had in Zermatt, which joins the Cervinia ski area on the Italian/Swiss boarder, so taking your passport out on the hill is a must!
In [...]

4 days til pow in Cervinia and Zermatt

Monday, 11. 20. 2006  –  Category: Snowboarding

Am off to Cervinia on Thursday night after work and plan on riding both sides of the Italian/Swiss border in Cervinia and Zermatt.
According to Snow-Forecast.com there is a load of snow on its way over the coming days. The only potential problem is the risk of lifts being closed due to strong winds.
On the [...]

Zermatt weather and webcams

Tuesday, 11. 7. 2006  –  Category: Snowboarding

I’ve got a snowboarding weekend in Zermatt coming up in a couple of weeks. The season has barely started so I’ve been keeping a close watch on the snow forecasts and the web cams.
I thought I’d share these with you in case anyone else is heading over, and give me easy access to the [...]
