Packing for first snowboard trip of the season
Thursday, 12. 6. 2012 – Category: Snowboarding
If packing is ever a pleasure (debatable) its when you’re packing for snowboarding. I’m heading out this evening for my first trip of the season, back to Cervinia for our usual season opener. The bag is half packed, and after reading a good post on packing for a season from Peak Leaders, I thought I’d run you through my packing list.
New gear!
Starting off with new bits for this season.

- Scott impact shorts. New convert to the benefits of arse pads.
- Anon Hawkeye goggles.
- Hooded fleece-lined checked shirt. Thanks to gooutdoors for this one. Did I say its gonna be cold?
On mountain gear
Essentials for the slopes

- Gloves – Hestra Army Leather Heli Ski – my favourite piece of kit. Highly recommended.
- Jacket
- Pants
- Snowboard (K2 Believer)
- Bindings (Salomon Thrusters)
- Boots (Salomon F22)
- Base layers
- Helmet
Recommended extras

- Hoorag! Its looking bitterly cold this weekend, so this piece of kit will be bridging the gap between the bottom of my helmet and top of my goggles.
- First aid kit
- Compass
- Shovel, probe, transceiver
- Hip-flask
- Energy drinks
Probably missed a load of good stuff here, but pushed for time so hitting publish and heading to the airport. Tell me what I’ve missed in the comments.

Your gear list is looking pretty good…….just mind those hidden rocks under the snow!

Thanks PL. Rocks under the snow? Yeah, the top layer of powder can lure you into a false sense of security right now. Pretty good conditions though for early December.
