Morzine weather and webcams

In three weeks time I’m off to Morzine for ten days, staying over New Year. Really looking forward to it. There’s a good group of us going, including my girlfriend who will be snowboarding for the first time. Good on her! The only thing we need now is some snow…

So, I’ve started watching the Morzine weather at snow-forecast.com and the Morzine webcams and snoweye.com to see what the weather in Morzine is like, and well, it’s not looking great… yet.

Fingers crossed and snow dances to be danced. Come on, snow!

If all else fails, the Morzine website reports on new snow making capabilities:

State-of-the-art snow-making equipment is set to provide an even better base than in previous winters. Skiers and boarders will get more of the white stuff faster than ever thanks to a new pump and compressor. In addition, the snow cannons on Piste B have been overhauled and the network extended by 250 metres on Piste H.

As it’ll be one of the busiest times of the season I’d imagine they’ll pull out all the stops to get it ready and will be holding mass snow dances to the mountain gods on a daily basis til its looking like this again:
