f2 Sonic snowboard

Just picked up this board (161 f2 Sonic) on my last day in Chamonix, but haven’t had a chance to ride it yet. Will report back when I’ve given it a go in February. For now all I can say is its fairly stiff, black with red trim and it looks mean.
I spent 4 days riding the f2 Sonic (fitted with Salomon SPX44 bindings) in Austria last week.
The board is billed as a 50-50 freeride freestyle board which is ideal for me, as I love cruising the pistes/off piste as much as I do hitting kickers and doing little tricks.
For FS stuff, the board had an excellent pop to it but retained good stiffness for carving out turns. In fact it has a really tight turning cirlce.
No problems getting up some serious speed on this board either, though as a fairly light board it tends to bounce about a bit when you’re caning it on rough terrain.
All in all, shed loads of fun though it took me a day to get used to it. But when I did, it flew.

No problem Alex. I’ve been riding the Sonic quite a lot more since wrting this review, and I’ve found it really good. I may replace it next season with a Ride Timeless, or maybe the season after. But for now, its doing the business.

Mate, the sonic looks absolutely amazing, I’m hoping to give it a try sometime. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it.
