Natasha Richardson died skiing without a helmet
Thursday, 03. 19. 2009 – Category: Skiing
It’s been all over the news today that actress Natasha Richardson has passed away a few days after hitting her head in a skiing accident.
I’m not familiar with her work - as to be honest, I know very little about the acting world and don’t watch many movies - but it’s always sad to hear [...]
ski.co.uk and snowboard.co.uk sold for £100k
Friday, 11. 28. 2008 – Category: Skiing, Snowboarding
Just spotted via Twitter (follow me here), ski.co.uk and snowboard.co.uk have just sold at auction for quite hefty sums.
snowboard.co.uk fetched £20,000 and ski.co.uk reached a mighty £80,000.
Compared with some other major .co.uk domain purchases in the last 18 months these might be a couple of bargains. cruises.co.uk sold for £560k in February 08, smashing the [...]

The season is on its way alright. The Metro Ski & Snowboard show kicks off in about 3 weeks time. The show runs from 22nd to 26th October at Olympia, London (not Earls Court as I previously stated).
Always a good way to build the stoke…

Snowboard luggage airline costs
Tuesday, 09. 30. 2008 – Category: Skiing, Snowboarding
About this time last year I posted up a link to a piece of research into the costs charged by each of the major airlines flying from the UK to ski airports in Europe for checking in your skis or snowboard.
Well, APH have updated their research and things have changed! RyanAir now costs a [...]
Sauna ski lift
Tuesday, 09. 2. 2008 – Category: Skiing, Snowboarding
This must get a bit sweaty when you’re wearing your full winter gear…
Travel Weekly has posted images of a gondola/bubble lift done out as a sauna, and asks the question: which country is this in?
Wild Snow backcountry blog
Thursday, 03. 29. 2007 – Category: Skiing, Snowboarding
New to my Bloglines feed subscription list is WildSnow.com. I love the site already having only read a few posts.
Mainly I love it cos of the unashamed SEO (search engine optimisation) thrown at it (SEO is my day job). Stuff like “Lou Dawson’s Backcountry Skiing Weblog Blog and Website” is brilliant SEO overkill.
I [...]

National Ski and Snowboard week
Monday, 11. 13. 2006 – Category: Skiing, Snowboarding
It is National Ski and Snowboard week here in the UK. Going with the super lame slogan: Give snow a go!
Well, its cheesey, but lets give them the benefit of the doubt. It looks like there’s a load of offers and freebies up for grabs, which is what this is all about [...]
Ski and board hire in the UK
Tuesday, 10. 24. 2006 – Category: Skiing, Snowboarding
Do you often find the gear you hire at the resort is shite? Sweaty boots with dodgy laces and big heel lift? Crappy bindings that come loose? Board more flexible than a credit card and not in your preferred size?
I met a company at the Metro Ski & Snowboard Show on Sunday [...]

Click here to buy Electric EG.5 goggles - $94.95
Click here to buy Electric EG1 goggles - $79.95
I bought a pair of Electric EG1 goggles online back in February, just before my last trip as it turned out. Unfortunately the postman must have nicked them, as they never arrived.
I phoned up the website and got [...]
